Kristen Christensen (She/Her)
LCSW/Owner
I believe that therapy should be a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space, that offers the opportunity to process and make sense of emotions and experiences. My goal is to provide a serene and safe haven for healing in a healthy, yet fun therapeutic environment. Walking through the therapeutic experience together is the key to healing.
All About Me
I am very excited to be coming back to the Chicago area! I moved to North Carolina 7 years ago to work on an elite team of Mental Health Clinicians that responds immediately to police calls involving child victims or witnesses to violence or other trauma. I worked in partnership with the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department, other mental professionals, and child protective services, to coordinate multi-system interventions that re-establishes safety, security, and well-being in the immediate wake of violent events. As an acute response trauma clinician, I have developed a unique set of skills that allows me to aid clients on their journey of healing from traumatic events. I am nationally certified to deliver Trauma-Informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). I am also trained in Dialectal Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). My passion for helping trauma survivors and their families has led me to gain extensive experience with Reunification Therapy (RT).

I offer trauma-informed individual therapy, family therapy, and have developed a passion for helping children who are navigating separated or divorced parents.

Outside of the office, I enjoy spending time with my husband, daughter, and our two dogs Chase and Jax. I am a proud auntie or "KK" to a perfect niece and nephew. When I am not with my family you will most certainly find me trying out a fun new recipe, I love cooking!
